UFC 248: Adesanya vs Romero Results
UFC 248 goes tonight the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC‘s third pay-per-view card of the year will be headlined by Israel Adesanya defending his middleweight title against Yoel Romero. While in the co-main event, Zhang Weili is set to defend her strawweight title against the former champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
After beating Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 and winning the undisputed UFC middleweight title, Adesanya was expected to defend his title against Paulo Costa. However, after Costa was forced to undergo surgery on his injured bicep, Adesanya decided that instead of waiting, he would take a fight with the man no one wants to fight, Romero.
Going into UFC 248, both Adesanya and UFC president Dana White have said that they believe the co-main event Zhang and Jedrzejczyk will be the fight of the night.
Zhang won the title last August, beating Jessica Andrade at UFC Shenzhen to become China’s first ever UFC champion. The Brazilian had won the title beating Rose Namajunas, who had dethroned Jedrzejczyk.
