Tyson Fury: Anthony Joshua’s Not Dangerous

Even after dominating Deontay Wilder over seven rounds in their rematch in February, Tyson Fury still feels that he’s a bigger threat than Anthony Joshua. Despite the one sided loss, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ chose to exercise his rematch clause against ‘The Gypsy King’.

The Fury and Wilder trilogy was originally booked for July However, because of the coronavirus outbreak and the cancelling of the fight, there has been recent talk of making the Tyson vs Anthony Joshua unification bout at the end of the year instead.

Speaking to ESPN (as transcribed by The Mac Life), Fury stated that Wilder is by far the more dangerous opponent between him and Joshua.

“One-hundred percent [Wilder’s more dangerous], Joshua’s not dangerous, at all. He’s like a big cuddly baby. Why would I be a believer when he got knocked spark out by Andy Ruiz? A last-minute replacement opponent … who turned up 300 pounds or whatever it is, he didn’t train, and Anthony Joshua couldn’t do any good with him in the rematch.

“He doesn’t have anything, he couldn’t hold a candle to ‘The Gypsy King’. There’s only one heavyweight out there, there’s only one undefeated world champion. They’ve all fallen by the wayside, the fellow that hasn’t gotten beat, has knocked them out! I’m the only one! Me — ‘The Gypsy King,’ unbeatable, the untouchable, unbreakable champion.”

Fury isn’t the only one dissing Joshua. Should the Fury vs Wilder trilogy go ahead as originally planned later this year, AJ will defend his belts against Kubrat Pulev. This had been scheduled for next month, but has also been cancelled because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Boxing Scene, Pulev said that he’s convinced he will beat Joshua.

“I’m more than convinced that I’m capable of [beating Joshua]. No matter how much Eddie Hearn tries to manoeuvre things and play his little games, I will come up against Joshua and I will beat him! It’s written in the stars. Fighting with Fury would be a great challenge for me and it would also bring me a great amount of pleasure.”

Once the coronavirus situation improves, would you prefer to see Tyson Fury versus Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua?
