Stamp Fairtex: I Want Everyone To Recognise The ‘Stamp Dance’
Stamp Fairtex is one of the most exciting martial artists on the planet. The 22 year old was raised in a family of Muay Thai practitioners and with over 80 professional Muay Thai bouts under her belt, competing has been a way of life for the young superstar since she was a small child.
Since the coronavirus pandemic has put the world on a global lockdown however, the ONE atomweight Muay Thai champion has been unable to compete since ONE: King Of The Jungle. With extra time on her hands, Stamp is focusing on her family life at home in Rayong, Thailand instead.
“During this time, I help my father paint the house – we just finished! We are also cooking at home as my grandparents are here. We also do some activities together like playing games, and singing karaoke at home,” Stamp told ONE Championship.
It’s not surprising that karaoke is a regular feature for Stamp during isolation. Iconic dance moves have become synonymous with the Thai star ever since she burst onto the scene in ONE Championship.
“Music and dance are important to me because they help me relax and make people remember me. I want everyone to recognize the ‘Stamp Dance’, whenever they’re talking about dancing. I’m very happy that everyone has responded well, making me want to find more dance music in the next fight for everyone to enjoy as well,” says Stamp.
Stamp was spotted by Rich Franklin in the first season of ONE Warrior Series (OWS). She then had a dream debut competing on ONE Warrior Series 1, scoring a 19 second head kick knockout in what was her mixed martial arts debut.
“OWS is very important to me because without OWS, I wouldn’t have had the same success,” says Stamp.
With he martial arts career on temporary hold during the coronavirus pandemic, Stamp can’t wait to get back doing what she does best.
“To show the best performance is most important to me. I’d like to make the audience enjoy everything about my matches – I want to show what I’ve learned and what I’ve improved on so far, in every fight,” says Stamp.
And with the world on lockdown, Stamp has a message to all her fans during these crazy times.
“I’d like to ask everyone to take good care of yourselves and people around you, and please stay safe and always protected wherever you go.”
