Dana White Hits Out At Logan And Jake Paul: They Can’t Fight
UFC president Dana White has once again made it clear that he is not fan of YouTube sensations Logan and Jake Paul.
The Paul brothers have truly embraced the fight game in recent years. Elder brother Logan is scheduled to fight boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing bout next month. While Jake has been busy calling out a whole series of top MMA fighters for a boxing bout, including Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal. The 23 year old is riding high after improving to 2-0 as a professional boxer against NBA star Nate Robinson in November. Despite the two brothers making headlines on a daily basis in recent months, Dana himself can’t see their appeal.
‘A Big Gimmick’
Speaking on “SHOUT!” The Buffalo Bills Football podcast (as transcribed by MMA Junkie), Dana directed crude barbs at Logan and Jake.
“The answer to that question is, who gives a f***? Neither one of those guys can fight. It’s all a big gimmick,” Dana said. “Like I said in a [recent] press conference, there’s a market for that. If people are dumb enough to spend their money watching that s***, I don’t know what to tell you. Good luck to them. I [couldn’t] care less what that guy [does]. I get it. He’s trying to make some money and is doing his thing. There are people who want to spend money on that. I’m not that guy.”
Amanda Nunes vs Jake Paul
While Jake has been calling out the UFC’s top male fighters, Dana recently stated that the promotion’s two division female champion Amanda Nunes, would knock him out. In response, Paul stated that he had no interest in fighting ‘The Lioness’. The UFC boss thinks that’s just as well, as she’d ‘put him in a coma’.
“Amanda Nunes will knock that kid out,” Dana stated. “To even think about that guy fighting, he’s like, ‘I’m never going to fight a woman.’ You shouldn’t. You shouldn’t because she’ll put you in a coma. That guy is just some kid off the street. One of the big problems with him right now, he’s lucky there’s a pandemic. He’s talking smack about real people – real people that he could run into at a restaurant some night and things like that. This isn’t a real guy. This is just some kid on YouTube.”
Jake has been linked with Dillon Danis and Michael Bisping, and has been called out by Artem Lobov, and veteran Vitor Belfort during the past few weeks.
