Anthony Johnson Is Set To Return To Action

Anthony Johnson is set to return to action next month. But this won’t be in an MMA cage or a bare knuckle fighting ring, the former two time UFC light heavyweight title challenger will compete at Submission Underground Grappling 9.

In the last few hours, SUG has taken to social media to announce that Johnson will face Craig Jones in the main event, of SUG 9.

The 35 year old Johnson retired from MMA just over two years ago, after losing to Daniel Cormier for the second time at UFC 210. Earlier this year ‘Rumble’ joined the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, in a fighter relations role.

Jones is a grappler and Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt, under Lachlan Giles. He competes for the Absolute MMA Academy on the sport’s international circuit. The Australian is regarded as one of the best grapplers on the planet.

Chael Sonnen is the founder of SUG. SUG 9 goes down on July 7th, at The Roseland Theatre in Portland, Oregon and will be shown live on UFC Fight Pass.
